Jaki będzie nowy ogród deszczowy w dzielnicy IV Prądnik Biały?

What will the new rain garden in District IV Prądnik Biały be like?

We invite you to the second consultation meeting with residents Kraków PL regarding the development of the southern part of the Park near Kuźnica Kołłątajowska as part of the Life Pact project!

When: 27 March 2024 (Wednesday), 6 p.m.

Where: Primary School No. 13, ul. Ks. Józefa Meiera 16D

During the meeting, we will present the rain garden project, which was developed as a result of consultations with residents. It is part of the broader Life Pact project, implemented in cooperation with the cities of Leuven in Belgium and Madrid.

LIFE PACT aims to prepare Krakow for climate change, which results in extreme weather events such as droughts, torrential rains and storms causing floods.

Due to dense development and a large amount of impervious surfaces, cities are particularly vulnerable to adverse weather conditions. As a solution to these adverse phenomena, which are the result of global warming, Life Pact proposes the implementation of nature-based solutions (NBS). The project involves the construction of NBS in the form of three green areas and two rain gardens in various locations in Krakow. The city should function like a ‘sponge’, absorbing rainwater and using it during periods of drought. To make this happen, LIFE PACT emphasises the participation of citizens and stakeholders and the use of data and digital technologies to implement NBS. This integrated approach is intended to develop a sustainable and affordable model for maintaining NBS that is precisely tailored to the needs of residents.

We invite all interested parties to participate in the KEGW workshops.
