Kuźnica Kołłątajowska Park – A new standard of urban greenery on Banacha Street
As part of the LIFE PACT project, the Water Infrastructure Authority in Kraków has launched an investment in the Kuźnica Kołłątajowska Park, on the square between Banacha Street and Kuźnica Kołłątajowska Street. The contract was signed on April 25, 2025, and the works began after the site was handed over. They are scheduled to continue until July 31, 2025. However, the contractor is required to be ready to carry out the works from the date the contract was signed, and all indications suggest that the project should be completed by mid-June.
The scope of the investment includes construction works, greenery planting, and maintenance of green-blue infrastructure areas. The project provides for the creation of a rain garden, new tree and shrub plantings, installation of small architectural elements, and improved pedestrian accessibility. During public consultations, residents called for an increased number of benches, the installation of insect hotels, the use of plant species adapted to wet conditions, and the extension of pedestrian paths in line with existing desire lines.
All works will be carried out in accordance with applicable regulations and standards, with a strong emphasis on environmental protection and user safety within the park. After the completion of construction, a 14-day maintenance period for the newly planted greenery is planned, followed by annual warranty inspections.
