The LIFE20 CCA/BE/001710 project “People-Driven: Adapting Cities for Tomorrow,” is co-financed by the European Union under the LIFE programme and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management
We have just completed workshops on building local partnerships and planning NBS activities in the city, i.e. initiatives that mimic nature. We want the residents of Krakow to decide on the project themselves, including locations, plants and architecture. Based on the common good, communication and resources, we are starting to implement an EU project LifePact.
An important part of the workshop was the presentation of what our project partners had already done and how they had done it. The question was whether what had worked in Belgium and Madrid in the implementation of important social initiatives could be transferred to our own country.
We follow the latest trends, and we are assisted in this by social specialists working throughout Europe from Democratic Society
Nature-based solutions (NBS), which are proven ideas for adapting cities to climate change, will become increasingly common. Approximately €4 million has been allocated for the construction of rain gardens in Krakow, Madrid and Leuven as part of LIFE PACT.
