Ogrody deszczowe oraz tereny zielone zamiast betonu i kostki. Ulice: Ehrenberga, Strzelców, Witosa, Banacha i Monte Cassino będą bardziej zielone i przyjazne mieszkańcom.

Rain gardens and green areas instead of concrete and paving stones. The streets of Ehrenberga, Strzelców, Witosa, Banacha and Monte Cassino will be greener and more resident-friendly.

To protect the city from drought and flooding, KEGW, together with residents, will reclaim several plots of land. This proven method of introducing more greenery and flowers into the city was borrowed from Leuven and Madrid. It was with these two cities that Krakow applied for EU funds to restore greenery in the city. The efforts of officials have brought tangible results, with exactly €400,000 granted by the European Commission.

Currently, Klimat-Energia-Gospodarka Wodna has announced a tender for a contractor. Any day now, the unit will sign agreements with designers who, listening to the ideas of residents, will carry out a real metamorphosis of several plots of land in Krakow, located close to housing estates.

Concrete and paving stones on the municipal plot at Ehrenberga Street are to be replaced with grass, shrubs, flowers and trees. Rain gardens will be created at Primary School No. 2 at Strzelców 5a Street and in Górka Narodowa Park at Banacha Street in the Prądnik Biały district. The new hydrotechnical structures are a form of water gardens that are part of a sustainable drainage system. Rain gardens collect rainwater and gradually release it into the ecosystem. At the turn of September and October, workshops will begin in Krakow with residents, green designers and KEGW inspectors supervising the implementation of the Life PACT project. The decisions made during the site visits will be the starting point for the construction and arrangement of new green retreats in Krakow. We will announce the dates of the site meetings soon.
