Another round of KEGW consultations with residents is behind us. This time, regarding the square at Monte Cassino. The outcome of the workshops was the development of a land use concept created in cooperation with the widest possible group of people interested in the place and representing various communities.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

One of the concepts recommended by the architects was well received by residents, councilors, and officials. It proposes arranging the space at Monte Cassino as a recreational and relaxation zone with benches.<\/p>

According to the majority of those gathered at the workshops, a significant problem of this place is its close proximity to the street. To increase comfort and safety in the neighborhood, the scope of KEGW\u2019s actions should also include creating so-called separating greenery. The workshop participants\u2019 idea focused precisely on greenery that would isolate noise and thus separate the garden\u2019s interior from the busy Monte Cassino Street.<\/p>

There were many calls for new tree plantings in the neighborhood, but on the side of D\u0119bowa Street.<\/p>

Let us remind you that these are already the second workshops conducted by the Climate-Energy-Water Management unit (KEGW) as part of the ongoing LIFE PACT program in Krak\u00f3w. Using a pioneering participatory method with residents for urban greening, KEGW secured \u20ac400,000 from the European Commission. The project will last four years, and the proposals for changes as well as the locations come from Krak\u00f3w residents. We will announce the dates of the next workshops soon. As part of the city\u2019s transformation aimed at increasing retention levels, plots at Witosa, Banacha, and Strzelc\u00f3w streets will be revitalized.
